MidCars Hamvention Eyeball Was Great We Enjoyed Seeing You at Dayton! At least 34 hams stopped in at
the Informal MidCars Eyeball QSO gathering in the lunchroom at the Dayton
Hamvention on Saturday afternoon. Bright orange lettering on street signs
over the tables marked the spot where MidCars hams started to gather as
early as 1:30. Despite rain which threatened the outdoor flea market
sending hundreds inside, there were plenty of tables and chairs available
for the MidCars group to sit and enjoy each other’s company until well after
4:00 PM. For some it was an opportunity to renew old friendships and for
others it was the first time they were able to attach faces to the voices
they hear daily on 7258 KHz. SCO Gary, W9GAS took pictures which will
appear on the MidCars Website in the next few days. The group included
eight of our Service Control Operators, our original Webmaster, our current
Webmaster, officials from the Salvation Army SATERN program., and lots of
our regular check-ins.
Dayton 2009 Pictures Dayton Hamvention 2010 Social Gathering will be in the lunchroom at 2:30PM, on Saturday, May 15th. Look for the bright orange and white signs on the tables. This will be an old fashioned "eyeball QSO" with some of the many people you talk with on 7.258. Be sure to sign the guest log while there and we"ll post a list of everyone who stopped by to say "Hello". We hope to see you in Dayton!
